As a technology-driven business, leading the way with our innovative systems such as Phenix and the myTC App, developing a new system exclusively for our Travel Counsellors came naturally. And so, June 2017 saw the launch of our new e-learning platform, COACH. We recently caught up with Michael Vincent, Head of Learning and Development and co-creator of COACH,who told us about this system that is changing Travel Counsellors’ lives. Here's what we found out....
COACH is sculpted to your needs.
No matter which of our seven countries you’re based in, how long you’ve been a Travel Counsellor for, whether you sell leisure or business travel or if you’ve joined us with no previous experience in travel, COACH has resources tailored just for you. With over 80 product guides, resources to help your personal development and specialist items covering social media, IT and more, COACH has everything you need and allows you to focus on areas of development which are relevant to you.
COACH is a business tool
As a Travel Counsellor, you are a self-employed business owner, and so we developed COACH with this in mind: it’s a system designed to address your business needs and to be accessible around your working hours. According to Michael Vincent, COACH provides learning on a timeline and at a level that is achievable for you. That’s why it’s so easy to navigate, straight to the point and has many ‘quick hit’ resources, so you can find what you want, and then get back to business.
COACH is people-friendly
We spoke to Travel Counsellor, Amanda Walker. She told us how much she enjoys using COACH. “I can log on when I want, it’s very intuitive with icons and pictures, and it’s a learning style that works for me. I can go back and re-listen to things I miss in the classroom”.
COACH is available anytime, anywhere
To use COACH, all you need is an internet connection. COACH is optimised for web and mobile, meaning you can use it on your laptop, tablet and mobile phone, through the COACH app, with full functionality to ensure your learning experience is as easy as possible. So, whether you’re on a “sun lounger in the Bali or in your office, you will be able to log on” says Michael Vincent… but he doesn’t advise using it in the pool!
COACH is in-house
Since we built COACH ourselves, everything is tailored to our Travel Counsellors. That said, we have bought in world-class 3rd party resources to provide the best learning possible, as well as creating our very own tools, featuring familiar faces from around the business. “The module I’m loving the most is Mike’s selling skills” says Amanda. These guides feature our very own Head of Sales Promotions, Mike Graham, in cartoon form to help Travel Counsellors boost sales and “sell ourselves on the value of us as a Travel Counsellor, so the customer knows what they’re getting rather than by booking on the high street or online”.
COACH has got off a flying start
With Travel Counsellors logging in over 14,500 times in it’s first month, that’s an average of over 9 times each, it’s clear to see that Travel Counsellors liked what they saw, and came back for more.
