As a Travel Counsellor, you’ll benefit from the strong relationships we’ve built with our suppliers and partners in the travel industry. Besides great rates and exclusive offers, having the opportunity to gain in-depth knowledge by meeting hoteliers, airlines, tourist boards and destinations management companies (DMCs) from around the world at our regular ‘TC Takeover Days’ is another hugely advantageous benefit.

We’ve had spectacular Takeover Days focusing on Thailand, Ras al Khaimah, South Africa, Florida, the hotel group, Essential Detail, plus Cruise and DMC specials in the past seven months. And our most recent Takeover Day with Oman Tourist Board was no less impressive than the rest.

We were joined by representatives from Oman Tourist Board, Oman Air and Desert Adventures. Plus, the luxurious hotels and resorts Six Senses Zighy Bay, Alila Jabal Akhdar, The Chedi, Dunes by Al Nahda, the Grand Hyatt Muscat, Kempinski and Shagri-La Barr Al Jissah.

Travel Counsellors had travelled from as far afield as Penzance, Cornwall for the day. But for those unable join us, a TCTV special was broadcast to Travel Counsellors far and wide, so no one missed out. Each supplier had time on camera to speak directly to viewers, giving them the need-to-know info and plenty of facts and figures from behind the scenes… all useful things for Travel Counsellors to share with their customers and demonstrate their knowledge. For example, did you know The Chedi has the longest swimming pool in Arabia, at 103m long?

A round-robin training session allowed Travel Counsellors to put their questions to each supplier and get more detailed information. Making themselves better informed enables Travel Counsellors to be more passionate and knowledgeable travel experts… as if they weren’t already!

All that learning is hungry work, so we enjoyed a lunch of traditional Omani dishes and treats, with the sounds of an Arabian drumming band playing live.

It’s not just information and inspiration Travel Counsellors gain from our Takeover Days. The day is a unique opportunity for Travel Counsellors to get to know suppliers and the people down on the ground in destinations around the world. Then, when they return home, Travel Counsellors can speak to suppliers directly to arrange everything from a once-in-a-lifetime trip for their client, or simply to request a welcome gift in the hotel room. Whatever it may be, providing an exceptional travel service is much easier when you have relationships with those in the know.

If you’re ready to start treating your customers to a wonderful service, as a Travel Counsellor, you won’t have to do it alone. This is because our Commercial department work hard to build relationships with all our suppliers for you to take advantage of.

As a Travel Counsellor, you will have the buying power of an international, industry-leading travel company, but all the flexibility in the world to run your business, your way. Get in touch to find out more.
