Over Half Term we welcomed a very special guest to the Venus building – the headquarters of Travel Counsellors – to help us launch our new inspirational speaker programme.

The event saw American astronaut Nicole Stott drop by our Manchester HQ, where she discussed her career and the launch of the new training experience at the Kennedy Space Centre.

It was an incredibly inspirational day that was enjoyed by all - check out the highlights in our latest video...

Nicole has spent more than 100 days in space, having served as a flight engineer on two International Space Station expeditions, and mission specialist on a further two voyages.

TC Talks will be a regularly hosted event live from Venus, where we’ll use our state-of-the-art broadcasting technology and TCTV studio to share speaker content across the seven countries in which we operate, building on our commitment to our family of over 2,000 people worldwide.

The first event was attended by a hundred of the company’s Travel Counsellors, support team and their families, and Nicole was on hand to answer questions from our Global Sales Director Jim Eastwood as well as being grilled by audience members.

Jim commented on the event, saying: “The launch of our TC Talks initiative is designed to inspire and motivate each of our Travel Counsellors and support team, and give another dimension to the way in which we support our people.

“We plan to cover a wide range of themes from travel and technology to health and wellbeing, and will invite inspiring people to share their stories and experiences with our global audience.

“Throughout her career, Nicole has shown a remarkable level of innovation and drive to succeed, and this is a perfect blueprint for success within our own organisation. She was the ideal spokesperson to launch the series, showing that with the right determination, our future really does have no limits.”

The launch of TC Talks also coincided with our TC Kids initiative, a programme to support and involve the children of Travel Counsellors and head office employees during the school holidays. Nicole met with Travel Counsellors, partners, our head office team and children, and got involved with a range of space-themed activities.
