With more than 26 years working experience for a very busy retail agency, Ronel decided to go on her own and to start her own travel business as an ITC. She did this for 11 years and 1 year after Travel Counsellor entered the South African market Ronel decided to pick up the phone to Travel Counsellors.
Ronel has now just celebrated her 8th year anniversary running her own business with Travel Counsellors.
We spoke to Ronel to find out more about why she decided to move to Travel Counsellors
We did a Q&A with Ronel and this is what she had to say.
What is your favourite destination?
… Islands – Mauritius, Thailand, Bali, Maldives, Zanzibar and Mozambique. I have visited each of these destinations and I have also enjoyed travelling to Australia, Europe, the USA and South America and I would love to go back to those cities in each of those countries that I was unable to visit whilst I was there.
What destinations are still on your Bucket list?
Vietnam and Cambodia are both on my bucket list and it has been for many years, I just don’t seem to get there. They say Prague – the Czech Republic, is the most beautiful city in the world, so that is also on my bucket list, I need to see this for myself.
What do you love most about being a TC?
I absolutely love being independent and working for myself and from my home. I love having the back-up of a Head office for support, training, marketing and airline and for other commercial deals.
What has becoming a Travel Counsellor done for you?
Becoming a Travel Counsellor has helped me to grow my income over the years.
(My kids were grown up when I started working for myself, so I never had to do the school-runs or drive kids around which does help a lot when you work for yourself)
What do you want to achieve in 2018?
* I want to grow my business even more!
* I want to work towards getting back my Gold Status.
* I want to be fit and to feel healthier.
What advice would you give to someone thinking about becoming a Travel Counsellor?
Go for it! Travel Counsellors is a professional company that will offer you all the assistance with everything that you need from training to marketing etc. I love being part of Travel Counsellors and I know that you will enjoy it too.
