At Travel Counsellors, we really believe in celebrating the hard work and success of our franchisees. One of the many ways we do this is to treat our top TCs in Ireland to a special event where we acknowledge their achievements over the year. It is a day that we all really look forward to here at Head Office as it is always so packed with learning, fun and lots of laughter. This year we brought 15 of our Travel Counsellors together to celebrate at Wineport Lodge in Athlone for an overnight with dinner and celebrations that went on well into the night.  Also attending were Cathy Burke, Bernie Whelan and Caitriona Kelleher from our Irish Head Office team, our Corporate Travel General Manager Mark Wilson and our sponsor Tara Magee from British Airways.

Special invites were extended to those Travel Counsellors who’d reached the 10 year milestone running their own businesses.

Louth-based Travel Counsellor, Brenda Murray-Flynn, celebrated 10 years as a Travel Counsellor this year. We asked Brenda to tell us what is so special about Travel Counsellors:

Travel Counsellors is such an amazing company to work with; I have been in the industry for over 35 years and have never experienced anything like it, from the support of my colleagues to the high-end technology and tools we have… it’s phenomenal. There is huge friendship within the community, whether you are a new starter or a Top TC. I feel that everyone looks out for everyone else and we are always delighted when success happens for any one of us. It has been the best decision I ever made. I was, as the term goes, a ‘geriatric mother’ but joining Travel Counsellors meant I was there for every milestone of my daughter’s life and I missed nothing. I have a fabulous work/life balance. I was lucky enough to be able to take on caring for my invalid Mum as well as running my own business, which was momentous to us as a family. The last 10 years has flown in… maybe because I love my job so much.”

Lorraine Costello who is based in Kildare and also celebrated her 10th anniversary as a Travel Counsellor this year thinks Travel Counsellors is special for very similar reasons:

“Having the support and amazing people around me within the TC community is so important and makes my life so much easier. The move to Travel Counsellors was life-changing for me. I love that I’m there for my three kids now when they come home from school and that I have the flexibility of doing a job that I love, along with being there for my family.”
