At any one time, there seems to be a Travel Counsellor travelling somewhere in the world. One is in Fiji, another on tour in Palestine, a couple of them are enjoying a river cruise and another is heading over to Canada. It is really no surprise, given that the reason a travel agent starts working in travel, is to well… travel!

Last week, 4 lucky Travel Counsellors and a head office host took off on our exclusive team famil to Thailand. This lucky band of travel agents were challenged to grow their business and together, their enthusiasm won them the famil. Jetting off to Amazing Thailand to soak up some sun, feast on exceptional cuisine and immerse themselves in the beautiful culture, the Travel Counsellors enjoyed some fantastic properties in Phuket and the amazing Elephant Hills experience. This truly was an award winners trip where rest and relaxation were encouraged.Asked about their trip, all travellers were enamored with their experience at Elephant Hills. Travel Counsellor Teresa Sirinotis described it as a “soft adventure package where the trekking was not easy, but I was proud that I completed it”, while Travel Counsellor Geoff Ivin said, “the experience is mind-blowing and the elephants themselves were amazing”.
These famils are “a great team building event where you learn how other TC’s run their businesses” Travel Counsellor Deborah Bartolo said. Moreover, agents get the personal experience of the destination enabling them to sell the destination to their customers with confidence. Travel Counsellor Samantha Riddell explained that these exclusive famils allow for a more immersive experience “You spend more time in each place soaking up the surroundings, rather than moving to a different hotel every night. You also get to interact with other Travel Counsellors and share knowledge and experience”.
