The business travel arm of Travel Counsellors has appointed Mark Wilson as general manager following continued growth.

Wilson was most recently a senior vice president and general manager at ALTOUR. He brings 20 years’ experience to Travel Counsellors, having held senior strategy and operations roles at a number of multinational organisations.

In his new role, Wilson will oversee Travel Counsellors for Business’s global corporate travel strategy.

Wilson joins as Travel Counsellors for Business reports a record month for corporate sales, increasing 15 per cent year-on-year to £11.5 million in September. Global sales for the firm have surpassed £115 million since the beginning of the year, representing a 14 per cent increase.

Outside of the UK, Travel Counsellors says the US, France, Germany and the Netherlands remain the most popular business travel destinations. However, the company has seen an increase in demand for areas such as Argentina (up 85 per cent), Mexico (up 50 per cent) and China (up 37 per cent).
