Travel Counsellors recently held their annual global conference at Manchester Central over the weekend of the 10th – 12th November 2017.  It was  Travel Counsellor’s biggest conference yet, with over 1,600 delegates attending from across the globe.

We asked one of the UK Travel Counsellors Andy La Gette to share his thoughts on the weekend...

Where do I start? Having just returned to work following the Travel Counsellors 2017 conference, I feel energised, invigorated and privileged to be working with such a dynamic and positive head office team.

No expense was spared delivering a 3-day extravaganza of seminars, motivational speakers, supplier meetings, and consecutive evenings packed with high-quality entertainment climaxing with the black-tie awards gala to recognise our outstanding achievers. But it wasn’t the expense that made the weekend – it was the underlying drive and hunger from the Travel Counsellors leadership team that shone through most brightly.

Joanna Lumley reminded us of the importance of a “relentless attention to detail.” Kate Allatt and Dave Fishwick inspired us with their own stories of perseverance to realise things that others may not dare dream about. The future is ours, and it is up to us to make our own destiny.

I read posts from friends in other situations who post “I love my job” with reference to a nice trip they have been sent on which takes them away from their daily grind. As a Travel Counsellor, I love my job every single day. Travel Counsellors hasn’t changed my life for the better – it has provided me with the support to change my own life for the better.

Such is the depth of commitment and dedication to achieve the ambitious growth goals of the directors, that I have no doubt we will achieve and exceed them whilst maintaining the core values that make us special. More and more customers are learning about the TC magic, and I can’t wait to play my part in making it an even better 2018.
