On the 9th of March Travel Counsellors, our travel partners, and head office made their way to the King Shaka International Airport to catch the coach transfers to board the MSC Sinfonia that sailed from Durban to the Portuguese Island just off Mozambique.
The atmosphere was electrical with so many hugs and kisses all around as Travel Counsellors greeted each other from different parts of the country. What made this conference different this year (apart from being on a cruise ship) was that each Travel Counsellor had been allocated to a team and had already started participating in a programme called accelerator. This programme is filled with training and tasks that will help our TC's to build and to accelerate the growth of their business. A pilot project took place globally last year and it proved a great success. This year all South African Travel Counsellor are participating in the programme. An added incentive to this (apart from growing your business) is that the winning team will be jetting off to Mauritius for a rewards trip.
After setting sail our conference delegates were entertained by Kurt Darren and friends on the 'Super Sokkie Cruise'and all our delegates attended the Supplier Pow Wow where TC's where given updates from suppliers on their product.
We all enjoyed dinner together and a show in the Theatro that evening.
Then on Saturday, our Travel Counsellors woke up with great excitement as they got to participate in a TC Survivor Challenge. TC's were placed into 7 teams and each of them were given TC Survivor t-shirts and bandanas and they participated in 3 challenges on the beach of the Portuguese Island. The aim of the day was fun, teamwork and speed. At the end of the challenge all 7 teams were then taken off to the Pilalounge where each TC was treated to their own sun umbrella and beach lounge chair, with a private bar to enjoy the rest of the afternoon at leisure. Later that afternoon all teams met in the business centre of the ship for tribal council and TC's were given the opportunity to pledge their goals indicating what it was that they wanted to achieve.
We all enjoyed dinner together and a show in the Theatro that evening.
The next day Sunday was our main conference day where delegates heard from CEO Steve Byrne, Mladen Lukic our South African GM, and from numerous Travel Counsellors who shared their stories and what their 'Future without limits' looks like. A host of exciting updates, developments and personal insights, not to mention some great travel prizes where given out over the weekend.
Travel Counsellors were also given plenty of time to socialize and to network and to share ideas.
Later that evening dinner was enjoyed by all, along with a final show from MSC in the Theatro. The theme for the awards evening was nautical. All our conference delegates were invited to watch the TC Awards in the theatre with a cocktail at hand.
Awards were handed out for the following categories:
* Best New Starter
* Best Month
* Best Margin
* Best Phenix Sales
* Best Business Increase
* Best Referrer
* Most Helpful TC
* Best TC
The top 20 TC Score TC’s where recognized. This award was awarded to the TC whose clients scored them 100% in customer satisfaction.
After these celebrations, our Travel Counsellors, head office and Travel Partners danced the night away.
It was a wonderful time had by all our Travel Counsellors and feedback from Conference delegates was that it was the Best Conference to date! By the end of the weekend, our Travel Counsellors returned home feeling motivated and inspired to redefine ‘possible’ and to create their own future without limits.
