Happy Friendship Day is a time to celebrate friends.  We have heard so many stories from travel agents who have joined, telling us stories about their colleagues who ‘nabbed’ their big client while they went to the bathroom knowing full well that it was not their client to take.  In many of the retail shops whilst they were ‘friends’ there was so much competition and comparison and because their client base wasn’t protected there was an element of distrust.

But with Travel Counsellors, there is another way. We truly are a global family where we go above and beyond the call of duty to help one another and this extends to our Travel Counsellor clients.

Travel Counsellors business model protects your client base, which means that whilst you are a Travel Counsellor, no other TC may poach or take your client, this gives our Travel Counsellors complete peace of mind that when they need a day off or when they want to take some leave, they can go away knowing that their clients are in good and capable hands of their TC buddy who will look after their client as well as what they would.

The Travel Counsellors way that busts the myth that working from home can be lonely.

  •          There is always someone just a phone/skype call away.

  •          Our TC’s regularly get together with each other

  •          Sometimes they choose to work together in one of their homes or even at a coffee shop

  •          They have regular supplier mornings too.

  •          All Travel Counsellors functions include their partners too. This means that many of the TC partners have become friends and many of our TC’s socialize together and even go on holiday together.

We are a business built on relationships, friendships and trust. We truly care for each other and nothing is too big or too small for each other. These friendships extend from local towns within South Africa and then move across the globe to the UK, Ireland, Dubai, Netherlands, Belgium and Australia.

The Company’s Global Sales Promotions join Travel Counsellors heart from across the globe and friendships are built. TC’s share their knowledge, their personal experience & that from their clients along with their expertise with other TC’s who can, in turn, share this with their clients.

When things go wrong – Travel Counsellors will use our global network of more than 1700 TC’s and not to forget the huge number of clients. This results in much gratitude and appreciation that are all key ingredients to building friendships.

Examples of this include

  •          A Travel Counsellor in South Africa took ill and whilst she was dealing with her diagnosis her TC buddies stepped in and took care of her business so that she could focus on herself and her health.

  •          A UK client left a swimming costume behind at the hotel that they were staying in, someone in South Africa was able to collect the swimming costume and to take it to the Global conference that was happening in the UK. This person met the UK TC there and she was able to get it to her customer. It is service like this that blows the customer away, it is all possible due to the global network that Travel Counsellors offers.  It is the exceptional customer service that a TC can offer that the internet can’t and nor can many other retail agencies. This is what sets Travel Counsellors apart and reasons why they can build friendships with their clients where many of them over time become trusted friends.

  • Another client’s kid left their special teddy bear behind in the business class lounge in France – only discovered this after they had flown. A message for help was posted out to all Travel Counsellors globally on the message board asking if anyone could help. A TC had a client on their way and a businessman collected the teddy and on his return from his business trip, he was able to reunite the teddy with a very happy kid.

  • Another TC’s customer who was Johannesburg based was looking for a special place to propose to his girlfriend. After narrowing the choice down to a property in the Garden Route, he wanted the reassurance that it really was how the internet was showing it to be. The Travel Counsellor of this client called on her TC colleagues for help and a Travel Counsellor based in Knysna was able to go and do a site inspection. She took photos which could be passed onto the client (as well as her own report that the property would match what he was looking for). This feedback gave the client the full confidence that the property would match his expectations.

Stories like these are created daily among Travel Counsellors and it is so special to see and to hear of the many friendships that are being created across the company and globe.

We all need friends, people who will be with you during the hard times, there to encourage you and to cheer you on, to celebrate with you and not to forget to do the fun things together and the many braais.  This is what Travel Counsellors do.

If you too would like to be part of a company who cares and one where you can build friendships then get in touch as we would love to hear from you.
