Travel Counsellors Ireland have announced further enhancements to the support it offers its agents, as the company invests in more resources to help them grow their individual travel businesses.
The company has expanded its head office team in Cork, including the most recent appointment of Caitriona Kelleher who will be supporting the office in all areas of administration and recruitment. Alongside this Ireland General Manager Cathy Burke has taken on an international role within the business, driving global business development support to the company’s 1,400 home-based Travel Counsellors, and in turn bringing this knowledge and experience to the team and Travel Counsellors in Ireland.
Cathy comments; “As the business in Ireland continues to grow and each of our Travel Counsellors celebrate great success in their individual businesses, we are focused on ensuring we provide the very best support, tools and technology to enable them to build their businesses even further. This includes the expansion of our support team in Cork, which now has five highly experienced staff members focused on delivering first class training, business development and marketing support to our 65 agents across the Republic of Ireland, alongside the existing support from over 200 support staff in the UK and across the globe.”
“Further to this I have taken on an international role as Director of Business Development within the company while continuing my role in Ireland. This is very exciting and means I can bring all the knowledge and experience from our international offices to our Irish team whilst helping to grow and develop the business on an international scale. My colleague Bernie Whelan will be playing a big part in leading the team in Ireland and providing day to day support to our growing team of agents, ably assisted by Ciara MacConnell, Caitriona Kelleher and Nessa Hurley.”
These latest developments come after the company recently celebrated its 10th anniversary since launching in Ireland, with the Irish operation achieving a turnover of €22 million for its last financial year ending 31 October 2014.
