A record-breaking world explorer has made a splash at Travel Counsellors as part of the company’s “TCTalks” programme of motivational speakers.
World adventurer, author and speaker, Dave Cornthwaite, joined forces with one of Travel Counsellors cruise line partners Hurtigruten, to present his unique and inspiring way of life to Travel Counsellor franchisees and head office support team members.
Cornthwaite is best known for Expedition1000, an ongoing mission to take on twenty-five different non-motorised journeys, each over 1000 miles in distance across the globe. Having completed 14 journeys so far, Cornthwaite is founder of the “SayYesMore” and “YesTribe” movements, building a reputation for embracing challenges head-on, with a unique lifestyle outlook that sees him “Explore the world one yes at a time.”
As well as a Q&A session with Dave and Hurtigruten’s key account manager Mark Walter, which was recorded live in our state-of-the-art in-TCTV studio in-front of an audience of over 30 Travel Counsellors and head office team members. An intrepid group of Travel Counsellors also braved the chilly waters of Salford Quays to spend a morning with Dave learning to kayak like a professional explorer.

Travel Counsellors TCTalks programme is a series of talks from inspirational public figures from across the globe, which first launched with American astronaut Nicole Stott earlier this year. With our self-employed franchisees tuning in from seven countries to hear our Head of Cruise Janet Whittingham quiz Dave on running his own business, the keynote speaker also shared his thoughts, insight and experience on balancing family time with his passion for adventure and achieving his career goals.
