At Travel Counsellors, we use our own state-of-the-art wholesale booking engine called Phenix. One of the benefits of this program is that our Travel Counsellors don’t have to speak to multiple suppliers or airlines... it’s all in there in one place, and all one booking so it’s really easy to manage.
What makes Phenix even better, is that the system allows you to control your own margins, providing you with uncapped earning potential. As a Travel Counsellor, 60% of everything you earn is yours to keep. While this may be lower than some competitors, with Phenix, you are in control of your commission, which means that although the commission split is lower, you have the ability to earn a much higher commission, leaving more in your pocket. Let's take a look at a couple of Phenix Commission comparisons...
Example 1: Phuket, Thailand
In this example, we look at a popular hotel in Phuket. Supplier A – is the supplier you are booking within a typical retail agency. This supplier would be giving you 12.8% commission (or perhaps slightly less). For a Travel Counsellor using Phenix, by being able to set their own margins, the Travel Counsellor is able to increase their commission on this booking by over $100!

Using Phenix means you take more home. Even if our competitors offer a larger percentage split of the commission.
Example 2: Seminyak, Bali
In this example, you would earn over double the commission on this property in Seminyak!
(The Supplier in this example is operating on a 10% commission.)
Example 3: Fiji Package including flights and accommodation
The first two examples were simply accommodation only. Now we're getting into flight packages as well. What you can see in the table below is another massive difference in commission by using Phenix. You could more than double your commission, for the same amount of work.
