Travel Counsellors is proud to be a business with a culture of caring - for our people, our customers and our communities, both in which we live and in which we send our customers to every day. We believe that the world should be enjoyed by everyone and that we should work together to make this possible.

Over the past year the business has supported charities such as MDS (Motor Neurone Disease), Reubens Retreat and St Kilda Mums. At the 2018 ‘Future Without Limits’ conference, Travel Counsellors announced its support of a service that is vital to so many Australian’s. A service that even after 90 years of service, is still here and still needed: The Royal Flying Doctor Service.

Speaking at the conference, Travel Counsellors Regional Managing Director Kaylene Shuttlewood shared a personal story: “My dad, John Shuttlewood (currently aged 86), was a successful entrepreneur, businessman and private pilot, volunteering his time with the RFDS. As a child I remember a time that dad and I flew to Lizard Island in Far North Queensland to treat and retrieve a shark attack victim who needed to get back to the Cairns base hospital fast - because he was losing so much blood. It was that firsthand experience of seeing the RFDS in action saving a life, that made me feel incredibly proud, not just of my Dad's efforts, but also of a truly iconic, quintessential Australian service.”

At the event, Travel Counsellors also heard from members of the Royal Flying Doctor Service including a flight nurse and pilot who shared stories of challenging call outs and tricky landings.

Travel Counsellors is proud to be associated with and support RFDS is the Royal Flying Doctor Service. Whether it is a once-off or regular giving, your donation to the Flying Doctor will help them save and improve the lives of people living, working and travelling in Outback Australia.
